Mean Machines SEGA Gave a page story the front cover! This article gives some very early shots of Spinball. This was in their August 1992 issue.

Megatech
Magazine had this small news report about Sonic Spinball back
in 1993. It includes some old, blurry shots of the game, with
an alternate looking opening cutscene.

Here
is Megatechs one page preview of Spinball. This article claims
that you can actually fall all the way back from Level 4 to
Level 1 if you're not careful, but sounds to me like an interpretation.
It also says that you had no control over Sonic, when in the
final you do have a little control.

Here is Megatechs 6 page review of Sonic Spinball, giving the game 86%. This also includes a sort of mini-walkthrough, with an entire 2 page map of the 'The Boiler' level.

This two page advertisement was used in the Archie comic books. It actually shows some small, prototype images, but ones that have been seen elsewhere.

This
is the entire Japanese manual for Sonic Spinball. Unlike a lot
of Japanese manuals, this one is almost devoid of artwork of
long explanations.
